JOB DESCRIPTION

Coming from the financial controller, the accounting technician will assist in coordinating the preparation and processing of accounts payable and receivable, and will provide associated reports. The position requires a candidate who can operate with minimal supervision and who desires to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change rapidly.

Responsibilities

• Complete management of project accounts payable and receivable
• Matching delivery orders, invoices, and supporting documents
• Data processing in accounting software
• Preparation of payments to subcontractors and suppliers
• Tracking complaints and receipts
• Participation in month-end processes
• Invoicing by project
• Preparation and updating of various reports
• Classification
• Any other related tasks

Education and experience

• Hold a college diploma in administration (finance) or accounting/management;
• Minimum of five years of experience in a complete accounting cycle;
• Hold a college diploma in accounting and/or administration;
• Experience in residential and commercial construction (mandatory).

Knowledge and skills

• Must be bilingual: French and English
• Must have the ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision
• Strong technical skills
• Excellent communication skills are required
• Must possess excellent knowledge of Microsoft software (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Other software: Jonas Premier and Hopem an asset;

The position is full-time, at 40 hours per week, and the salary is negotiable based on experience. The workplace is located in Gatineau.
