Description of the tasks
- Assist the Construction Manager in communications and follow-ups between internal, external and subcontracted teams
- To carry out the estimation of the quantities and the associated costs
- Assist the Construction Manager in drafting tender documents and contacts
- Solicit bids, follow up, and prepare purchase orders for awarding
- Analyze plans, specifications and other documents to prepare a cost estimate;
- Prepare preliminary and detailed quantity lists from preliminary drawings, specifications, sketches or descriptions;
- Prepare documents and plans for bidding;
- Review bids from subcontractors and prepare recommendations;
- Prepare cost estimates and descriptions covering additional work not specified in the original contract;
- Research products, suppliers and subcontractors;
- Participate in site meetings, take minutes and follow up on decisions and actions taken
Requirements
- Have an engineering or engineering technician or architectural background (or in progress)
- 0-3 years experience in a project coordinator or project management role
- Excellent spoken and written French and English;
- Demonstrate team spirit and autonomy, sense of responsibility and leadership;
- Excellent organizational skills, time management, attention to detail, problem solving, interpersonal skills, flexibility.
- Experience in a company in the construction sector.
- Ability to work on multiple cases simultaneously.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
- Estimation experience.
- Proficiency in Excel and the Office suite.
- Working knowledge of Autocad.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Project (An asset)
