We are seeking an experienced Service Technician / Maintenance Worker for our real estate portfolio in Sept-Îles. Reporting to the Director of Property Management, you will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance and repair work on buildings and facilities. This role is essential to ensuring a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment.
Job Description
- Perform various repairs on building installations, such as replacing or repairing faucets, toilets, and other fixtures;
- Address basic plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, and faulty seals;
- Ensure maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (filter checks, bleeding, etc.);
- Repair or adjust doors, windows, handles, hinges, and window screens;
- Repair or replace moldings, baseboards, and wood panels;
- Install or repair shelves, shower rods, and other fixtures;
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to prevent breakdowns or malfunctions and report major repair needs to the Property Manager;
- Inspect vacant units and submit inspection reports with required corrective actions to the Property Manager;
- Ensure building safety;
- Identify material and parts requirements needed for repairs;
- Respond promptly to urgent tenant maintenance requests, as directed by the Director of Property Management;
- Be available for emergency calls outside regular working hours (as per contract).
Desired Profile
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrates versatility, resourcefulness, organization, good physical condition, and attention to detail;
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in property maintenance or building operations;
- Ability to diagnose technical issues and perform practical, efficient repairs;
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while prioritizing effectively;
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with tenants, colleagues, and management;
- Holds a valid driver’s license to travel between different sites.
